The calm before the storm. The fragrance opens with a very crystalline interpretation of the Rose - pure, streamlined, modern and uncompromising. A note of blackcurrant, along with unique extractions of Timut Pepper and Bourbon Geranium, add their fresh and spicy touches. But behind the azure rumbles a barely contained storm: Vetiver and Cedar mingle with a dark, earthy leather. A mystery that has its origins in IsoButyl Quinoline – an intense and bitter molecule, now forgotten after having been showcased by the audacious perfumery of the Roaring Twenties. Both shimmering and sober, this floral composition asserts itself over time, revealing a controlled sensuality.

Details
The Perfumer : Jean Claude Ellena
Born into a family of perfumers in Grasse, Jean-Claude Ellena learned his craft at the age of 17. Then, from Grasse to Paris, by way of New York and Geneva, he frequented the most prestigious laboratories, within which he views himself as a self-taught man. Highly influenced by Edmond Roudnitska, he writes short and minimally concentrated formulas in order to reinforce the subtlety and expressiveness of his composition. Inspired by everyday life, Jean-Claude Ellena likes to say that "perfume, a story of odors, is a poetry of memory, and above all a creation of the mind."

A perfumery expert, Frédéric Malle selects these artists himself, then helps them to give the best of themselves. The result of this collaboration is the best perfume in each olfactory category.
Together, they strive to push the creative boundaries of their profession. Perfume thus becomes an object of art.
