Details:

More than a perfume, AZIYADÉ is a flavor. The flavor of AZIYADÉ’s voluptuous flesh, the heroine of Pierre Loti’s eponymous novel, a tale of the languorous life of a harem at the twilight of the Ottoman Empire—but whose heroine had first been a hero, before the writer transformed him into a woman, making her forever the emblematic figure of love.

Passion fruit, forbidden fruit… It all begins with fruit: AZIYADÉ opens with the explosive accord of the pomegranate, born of the blood of Dionysus; to taste it is to drink the blood of the drunken god and experience cosmic union… Candied dates, almonds, oranges and prunes are set ablaze with aphrodisiac spices: cardamom, which warms kisses in ancient Egypt; Ceylon cinnamon, an essential ingredient in erotic feasts and consecrated by the Romans in the temples of Venus Libentina; ginger, used in China to arouse the mucous membranes; and finally Egyptian cumin, prized in the Sumerian Empire during sacred prostitution rituals.

AZIYADÉ’s Oriental trail draws us into the smoky atmosphere of a celebration. The evocation of tobacco leaves comes from raw Indian patchouli, used in magic to inflame sexual desire. Vanilla absolute, an aphrodisiac in the Aztec Empire, exhales its animalic accords, rounded out by the creamy notes of carob pods. The tears of Arabian incense plunge us into the sacred intoxication of love: did Queen Hatshepsut not offer her naked, incense-anointed body for all to see in honor of the god Amun?

Intoxicated with luxury and pleasure, AZIYADÉ remains endlessly sensual. Its animalic accord recreates the penetrating scent of the legendary Tonkin musk; Moroccan cistus absolute unfolds its resinous, deep facets. Overdosed and enhanced, AZIYADÉ’s subtle ingredients require slow maceration to develop this naturally colored nectar.
