Cultivated for 3,000 years, this citrus fruit belongs to the Rutaceae family. Originally from Kashmir, it appeared in Europe during the Muslim conquests in the Middle Ages, before the Portuguese and Spanish introduced it to the Americas.
Known for its acidity, the lemon is now recognized for its many medicinal properties and its fresh, invigorating scent.
